Olivia Chapman received her BFA at Ohio State University with a focus in painting and drawing in December 2019. Most recently Olivia began to show work in galleries through Ohio Art League. She has worked with the Indian Mound Mall in Newark, Ohio, doing live painting at the Big Sandy store opening and a Back to School event, and has also taught a couples painting night for Valentine’s Day in 2018. She has presented work at two pop up art shows, both locations in Columbus: RAW Artists show in September 2017 and Pancakes & Booze show in January 2017. In 2015 she created paintings that were auctioned off at Awakening Youth's Graduation Gala (a nonprofit, therapeutic living experience for teen girls), and in 2014 she traveled to Nicaragua on a mission trip where she led a painting activity with college students during a retreat.

       Olivia’s work centers on collage, often containing both a figure and a landscape. She repeats this combination to understand the relationship of body to universe, or individuals to something transcendent outside of them, reflecting on her Christian faith. The collage elements reflect a very distracted and fragmented culture of today, a psychological symbol of the various pieces of our lives that we all try to make sense of. Olivia focuses mostly on her identity as a woman, and how growing up changes one's perspective and memories.  Though the paintings feature saturated colors, playfulness and youth, the tension between assembled pieces and one flat surface ask the viewers to stop and think about their own tension in their human condition.
